A roadmap to inclusion in academia

“Diversity without inclusion is frivolous at best & harmful at worst.” Our group leaders, Felicity Davis and Vaishnavi Ananthanarayanan – together with Salah Elias of University of Southampton – provide a frank and compelling discussion about the enduring problems around equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI or DEI) in academic institutions. In this invited Comment published in Nature Cell Biology, they clearly lay out a roadmap to break the cycle of inequity. It’s a call to action to those with intersecting privilege and power to be the drivers of change, rather than defer to junior colleagues.
